Term 1
The subject for Term 1 was Chemistry and we learn about Acid and
Bases and chemical bonding. Luckily, I did not have as much of a hard
time memorizing the observations for different chemical reactions as some of my
friends. However, i did have some trouble with understanding the concept behind
the chemical reactions at first but after the experiment that we conducted, i
did finally got the grasp of what how the the chemical bondings occur and when it does, what are the results of the reaction. After the term of learning, i put all my knowledge to test and when i got my results back i was quite satisfied with it. Although i did not reach my expectation of A2, but i am satisfied with my result of B3 because i did answer to the best of my abilities. My takeaways from this term is that memorizing is not the key to success but it is fully understanding the concept of the topic, can we master the topic.
Term 2
This term was an interesting term because of the topic we were learning about the topic reproduction. This topic caused giggles and uneasiness within the classroom but this was quickly resolved when our teacher, Ms Nada, said we could be "mature young gentlemen" and ask her any non-personal questions to solve the uneasiness in us. As for my progress this term, i was able to breeze through each of process of the plant reproduction because we did start on this topic last year. But when i got my results back, i was in quite a shock because again, i did not hit my expectation of A2, to make things worse, i got a B4 which is a disimprovement from last time. So i have to buck up for the next term test...
Term 3
This term was a very fulfilling one, as we given many opportunities to understand and apply our knowledge, such as the enriching practical sessions. We were given tasks to do some hands-on work. I found it especially interesting to relate what we observe in the practicals to what we have learnt, as well as to what we see around us everyday, such as the phenomenon of the optical illusion that objects seem shallow or bend in water. But the test became a landslide failure for me because i went from B3 in term 1 to B4 in term 2 to C5 in term 3. This can probably be because of me not remembering the types of images formed by a concave mirror, I was also confused about what is a focal point and what exactly is the use of a focal point. I also did not understand what is meant by an image appearing from infinity. Only later, those confusions were cleared when I learnt about lenses. For term 4 i hope to finish revising the topics i learnt previously to prevent me from forgetting what i learnt before, by week 3 and start the practise papers by week 4 ti be prepared for the EOY exam in week 5.
